Concerts take place every day except Wednesday from July 1st until September 30th.
The memorial, which is open during the summer months from July until September has been established in 1984 by the Johann-Michael-Haydn-Society in cooperation with the Archabbey of St. Peter.
A slide show about Johann Michael Haydn's work and life will complete the exhibition. The setting up of the memorial was liked with the strong desire to cultivate old music on original instruments. Hereby, Salzburg's immense tradition towards music was to be focused on. Thus, the main stress has been put for years on the compositions of Johann Michael Haydn and those of his pupils and contemporaries. As a special attraction in 1987, a copy of Haydn's fortepiano, built by Kurt Wittmayer, which had been stored in the Salzburg Museum Carolino Augusteum, was acquired. Since then the CONCERTS AT FIVE in the Haydn-Memorial have become an important part of the music life of the city. The performers are young artists.
OPEN July 1st to September 30th, every day except Wednesday, from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. Concerts take place every day except Wednesday from July 1st until September 30th. Concerts start at 5 pm and end approximately at 5.45 pm.
